Description of Project
Spinners Yard is a 185-apartment, built-to-rent scheme constructed on Regent Street in Leeds city centre. Doocey Group were appointed to design and build the water and electricity infrastructure.
The electricity project included the installation 11kV cables, an integral 800kVA package substation complete with small power and lighting, earthing and all riser cables, multiple HDCO’s for landlord supplies, MSDB’s and laterals terminating with 100A cutouts within each apartment. For water, Doocey Group successfully managed the project through NAV adoption with ICOSA Water, installing a 63mm barrier pipe bulk supply into a storage tank, providing individual meters for each apartment.
Challenges
Following the energisation of the substation, our client required additional electricity capacity for critical safety equipment. We negotiated additional capacity with the DNO with minimal disruption to design, programme and budget.
