Doocey Achieves FORS Silver
Doocey Civil Engineering has recently been awarded silver accreditation from the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS).
The award echoes Doocey Group’s commitment to implementing robust quality management systems. FORS relates specifically to the company’s fleet of grab lorries, drivers, management and the systems and procedures it uses to deliver an effective service to our contracts. Great emphasis has been placed on a range of additional vehicle safety equipment such as: blind spot cameras, cyclist side scanners and audible turn left warning equipment. An awareness of environmental issues is also key and is demonstrated by close monitoring of fuel usage, exhaust emissions and noise assessments. The company is looking to reduce emissions further by replacing some of its older grab lorries with the latest EURO 6 fuel efficient and clean burning engines.
Training is another important factor and our drivers complete regular on line e.learning modules via the FORS website and have completed practical Safe Urban Driving courses which focuses on vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. Accident investigation is an important part of FORS Silver and Doocey Group has its own Health & Safety Department who, along with the Group Fleet & Transport Manager investigate and report on any incidents on the road so that we can take steps to prevent incidents happening again.
We believe FORS Silver reinforces Doocey Group’s investment in its workforce, equipment and fleet management systems. We consistently ensure that a strong quality and safety culture across the company is maintained.
