We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been named a Finalist in the British HR Awards 2025.

Over 350 entries were received from organisations across the UK, so to be named a finalist was no mean feat amongst nominees from public sector heroes, tech superstars, global titans and everything in between.

Judges include Chief People Officers for the AA and Natwest Cushon and HR directors for Taylor Wimpey and Fisher German to name a few of the esteemed judging panel of HR Professionals.

Doocey Group nominated their ‘Ask Cara’ initiative in the category of the Employee Wellbeing Initiative of the year.

‘Ask Cara’ was developed as a control measure to the new sexual harassment risk assessment all Companies are now required to complete as part of Worker Protection Act 2023. Inspired by the ‘Ask for Angela’ initiative the HR team have adopted a similar digital assistance principle via the Company’s own bespoke app that all employees have on their phones to complete their timesheets called Doocey Vision. Any time an employee feels vulnerable or concerned they are being sexually harassed whether in work, mobile out in the field or at a work social event they can easily press the Ask Cara alert button and quickly alert the Company to their vulnerability for assistance to be sought 24/7.

Other nominees are;

BrewDog / Copacetic Business Solutions / Gower College Swansea / Havas / INSTANDA / M&A Doocey Civil Engineering / Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) / Newsflare / Talk Works / The First Mile

The awards ceremony is at Covent Garden in London on the 2nd April 2025.

Kirstie Stuart, Head of HR & Support Services was thrilled to be listed as a finalist she said:

‘Not for the first time has Doocey Group developed a unique initiative where our people and their wellbeing is our only focus. I am so proud of the fact when presented with a risk assessment and the typical challenges many Company’s face we actually did something different, we didn’t accept what everyone else did – it felt too reactive, too after the event and we took the principles of the Ask for Angela initiative evident in pubs and bars and adapted this to address the areas of risks of sexual harassment specific to our workplace. Whenever I see a can of BrewDog or walk past their bars I will forever be proud we were finalists alongside a Company of that magnitude and one famously renowned for their innovate HR approach to employee wellbeing. Thank you to Abraham and Gemma for being part of this recognised initiative.’
